With her love of all things physical health, Anna Aishford graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the university of Calgary in 2011. During her undergraduate studies, she discovered the immense importance of mental health in wellness and physical performance. It is with her combined love of physical medicine and mental health that she pursued a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the university of Alberta.
Anna was first introduced to the impact of psychological trauma in graduate school while studying the impact of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on sleep, with members of the armed forces and emergency personnel. After graduation she started her career in long-term care but her heart longed to help people with emotional and psychological trauma.
She has worked along side first responders, emergency personnel, healthcare workers, and individuals from all walks of life who have been impacted by mental health struggles.
Anna is registered with both Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) and Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT). She has years of experience working in not-for-profit, public, acute hospital, and private settings.
Given her commitment to life long learning, Anna is currently pursuing doctoral studies in clinical psychology. In her days off she can be found reading and attending workshops to constantly add integrative treatment methods to her tool box, to best support her clients. Anna's areas of interest include complex-cumulative trauma, dissociative disorders, Post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and resiliency.
Given her knowledge about the mind and body, Anna's passion is to help her clients uncover their strengths, heal their scars, and find their path to lifelong recovery.
